Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Skywings Paragliding.

These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings, gift vouchers and services provided by Skywings Paragliding (“Skywings”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By making a booking with Skywings, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Participation in any tandem paragliding activity also requires the completion and electronic signing of Skywings’ Assumption of Risk & Indemnity Agreement through our approved digital waiver platform before the scheduled activity.

1. Bookings

  • Bookings may be made through our website, by telephone, WhatsApp, email or through authorised booking partners.
  • A booking is only confirmed once accepted by Skywings.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during the booking process is accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Skywings reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where incorrect, incomplete or misleading information has been supplied.

2. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
  • Payment requirements will be communicated during the booking process.
  • Outstanding balances must be settled before the scheduled activity unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Confirmed bookings will not be affected by any subsequent price adjustments.

3. Weather & Safety

  • Paragliding is entirely dependent on suitable weather conditions.
  • The safety of our students, instructors and staff is our highest priority.
  • Flights may be delayed, rescheduled, relocated, shortened or cancelled where weather conditions or any other operational or safety consideration make flying unsuitable.
  • The decision whether conditions are suitable for flight rests solely with the assigned tandem instructor.
  • This decision is final.
  • Meeting times, launch sites and landing locations may change depending on prevailing weather conditions and operational requirements.
  • Weather forecasts are indicative only and cannot guarantee suitable flying conditions.
  • Weather-related delays or cancellations do not constitute a breach of contract by Skywings.
  • Where reasonably possible, Skywings will make every effort to reschedule weather-affected bookings.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Students who wish to cancel or reschedule a booking should notify Skywings as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Where Skywings cancels a booking due to unsuitable weather or safety considerations, every reasonable effort will be made to reschedule the activity to another mutually suitable date and time.
  • Refund requests will be considered in accordance with Skywings’ Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • Failure to arrive at the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time without prior notice may be treated as a no-show.

5. Student Requirements

To participate in a tandem training flight, students must:

  • Meet the published minimum age requirements.
  • Fall within the operational weight limits advised by Skywings.
  • Wear suitable closed footwear.
  • Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for outdoor activities.
  • Disclose any medical condition, recent injury or surgery that may affect safe participation.
  • Follow all instructions given by the tandem instructor.

Students may not participate while under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs or any medication that could impair judgement or physical ability.

Skywings reserves the right to refuse participation where safety may be compromised.

6. Flight Operations

  • Flight duration varies according to weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
  • Launch sites may include Signal Hill, Lion’s Head or any other suitable location selected by Skywings.
  • Landing locations may vary depending on weather conditions and operational requirements.
  • Skywings cannot guarantee specific routes, flight times, altitudes or views.
  • Operational decisions made in the interest of safety are final.

7. Photography & Video

  • Photography and video services may be offered as an optional addition to the training flight.
  • While every reasonable effort is made to capture and deliver high-quality media, electronic equipment may occasionally malfunction due to technical issues, battery failure, memory corruption or environmental conditions.
  • Where media cannot be supplied due to equipment failure or technical malfunction, Skywings’ liability will be limited to the refund of any fee specifically paid for the media service, where applicable.
  • Commercial use of any photographs or videos produced by Skywings requires prior written permission.

8. Personal Property

  • Students are responsible for the safekeeping of their personal belongings throughout the activity.
  • Before take-off, students should ensure that all loose items, including mobile phones, cameras, sunglasses, keys and other valuables, are securely stored or attached as instructed by their tandem instructor.
  • Skywings accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to personal property unless such loss or damage is caused by our negligence or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable South African law.

9. Gift Vouchers

  • Gift vouchers are redeemable only for the services specified.
  • Unless otherwise stated, vouchers remain valid until their stated expiry date.
  • Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
  • Lost, stolen or damaged vouchers may not be replaced.

10. Assumption of Risk & Indemnity

  • Before participating in any tandem training flight, every student must complete Skywings’ electronic Assumption of Risk & Indemnity Agreement using our approved digital waiver platform.
  • Failure to complete the required documentation before the scheduled activity may result in the booking being postponed or cancelled.

11. Privacy

  • Skywings collects personal information necessary to process bookings, communicate with students, conduct flight operations and comply with legal obligations.
  • Personal information is processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
  • Personal information is treated confidentially and will not be sold to third parties.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
  • Any dispute arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate South African courts.

13. Amendments

  • Skywings reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
  • The latest version published on our website shall apply to future bookings.
