How Much Does Paragliding Cost in Cape Town?
If you are planning a tandem paragliding flight in Cape Town, the first thing you probably want to know is what it costs. Here is a straight answer, with no hidden extras.
Tandem paragliding prices in Cape Town
A standard tandem flight with Skywings starts at R1,800 per person. That covers everything you need on the day: all the equipment, a certified pilot, a short briefing, and the flight itself from Signal Hill or Lion’s Head, depending on the wind.
If you want to take the memory home, we film your flight for an extra R400. Your pilot shoots the whole thing on a pole camera, so you are in the picture the entire way down, with Table Mountain and the Atlantic behind you.
- Tandem flight, from R1,800. The classic flight of roughly 10 to 20 minutes in the air over the city.
- Photos and video, R400. Added to any flight, filmed by your pilot.
- Cross-country (XC) tandem. A longer flight for anyone who wants more air time. Pricing depends on the conditions on the day, so just ask us.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. You pay on the day, after we have flown. Paragliding depends on the weather, so we never take a deposit and never charge you for a flight that does not happen. If the wind is not right, we simply reschedule for another day at no cost.
Why the price is worth it
A tandem flight is not only a few minutes in the air. You are flying with a pilot who has spent years learning to read Cape Town’s wind, over one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, and you walk away with photos you will still be showing people in ten years. The R400 for photos is the part almost nobody regrets.
Want to learn to fly yourself?
If one tandem leaves you wanting your own wing, we also run courses. A Starter Pack is R9,500 and a full pilot licence course is R25,000. Have a look at the courses page to see what each one includes.
